PDFxMakerLite
is installed from the CD to a directory on your Delta Rip Station.
The Delta Rip is then shutdown and the software protection Dongle is attached to
the back of the Delta Dongle and the system restarted.
PDFxMakerLite can now be started from the Start
menu under Programs for the initial setup. At this moment
you can change the default settings.
Using
PDFxMakerLite
options you can define the contents of the output files and select their format.
PDFxMakerLite converts Delta job files into CGATS PDF/X-1a format and into Adobe PDF 1.3.
Press the
"Output Name…" button and select the corresponding name there.
Enable the
"Trapping" checkbox to include the Delta trapping data into the resulting file.
The
"Multiple Output files" option lets you define how multi-page job resulting file(s) are created.
If you disable this option all job pages will be output to one PDF file. If you enable this option every page of the job
will be output to a separate PDF file.
You can change the Final Resolution and define the Rotation parameters for the output files.
Some settings are controlled by the internal PDF data. Other settings define the name of the resulting PDF file.
You can select to name it either after the original PostScript file, or after the Job Title.
In
DeltaList files the colors are defined by symbolic names. Special
Ink Tables are used in
order to refer them to the CMYK equivalents for computer presentation. Ink Table is a file
where all standard PANTONE inks are listed with their CMYK equivalent values. Such Ink Table
file contains in the installer and is placed into the application's working directory.
You don't have to execute any actions to set up this default table with the
PDFxMakerLite converter.
Often the Delta users want to define their own colors and insert them into the Ink Table
used by the Delta RIP. If you want to use your Delta Ink Table with
PDFxMakerLite converter
you can add it to the list of Ink Tables clicking on the
"Ink Tables" button.
After you have configured the software the options would be stored and then used for all
jobs that
PDFxMakerLite processes. But you can change the options for any selected job.
Use the
Job Ticket (JT) for that job to apply individual options. If you run the application
with a
JT then the parameters from the JT take effect. Currently the job tickets for
PDFxMakerLite
are created in XML format. You don't have to edit the
JT manually.
PDFxMakerLite will save
the parameters you define in a JT that you can later use with your jobs. S
tart
PDFxMakerLite, set all
necessary options and press the
"Job Ticket…" button to save your settings.
